About Us

Sarah Lawrence College is a private liberal arts college in  Yonkers, New York. It is known for its low student-to-faculty ratio and highly individualized course of study.

The school models its approach to education after the Oxford/Cambridge system of one-on-one student-faculty tutorials, which are a key component in all areas of study.

Sarah Lawrence emphasizes scholarship, particularly in the humanitiesperforming arts, and writing, and places high value on independent study.

Sarah Lawrence College is ranked 53rd in the National Liberal Arts Colleges category in 2018 by U.S. News & World Report. Sarah Lawrence was also named the higher education institution with the "best classroom experience" in all of America by Princeton Review in 2016.

High school can be a confusing place, mostly in your junior and senior years. You must keep your grades up, prepare and take your ACTS and SATS, participate in extracurriculars, do volunteer hours, and make experiences, all while deciding what you want to do with your future. Throughout high school, Dr. Bradley has always been there to lend me advice. She was the reason that I stayed motivated when it got hard.  She would let all her students know about scholarships that she would find and would encourage us to apply for them. She also kept me informed about deadlines, helped me prepare my personal statement and scholarship essays, and wrote recommendation letters for me. I honestly do not know what I would do without her, even now, that I’m a second-year college student; she still keeps me in check.
