ABOUT US

Naropa University is a private university in Boulder, Colorado. Founded in 1974 by Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chögyam Trungpa, it is named for the 11th-century Indian Buddhist sage Naropa, an abbot of Nalanda. The university describes itself as Buddhist-inspired, ecumenical, and nonsectarian rather than Buddhist. Naropa promotes non-traditional activities like meditation to supplement traditional learning approaches.

Naropa was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 1988, making it the first Buddhist-inspired academic institution to receive United States regional accreditation. It remains one of only a handful of such schools. The university has hosted a number of Beat poets under the auspices of its Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics.

REAL TESTIMONIALS FROM REAL CUSTOMERS

High school can be a confusing place, mostly in your junior and senior years. You must keep your grades up, prepare and take your ACTS and SATS, participate in extracurriculars, do volunteer hours, and make experiences, all while deciding what you want to do with your future. Throughout high school, Dr. Bradley has always been there to lend me advice. She was the reason that I stayed motivated when it got hard.  She would let all her students know about scholarships that she would find and would encourage us to apply for them. She also kept me informed about deadlines, helped me prepare my personal statement and scholarship essays, and wrote recommendation letters for me. I honestly do not know what I would do without her, even now, that I’m a second-year college student; she still keeps me in check.
