ABOUT US
Coppin State University is a public historically black university located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is part of the University System of Maryland. The University is a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

The Department of Health and Human Performance at Coppin State University makes available several dance education and performance concentrations that focus on dance as culture.
​
The Dance Program is committed to preparing students for a career in dance education and performance by providing them with an intense program that includes: (1) scholarly inquiries; (2) performance opportunities; (3) choreographic projects; (4) master class workshops; and (5) teaching internships.
​
The dance faculty consists of artists, educators and scholars who are committed to providing the student with a comprehensive and diverse core training curriculum in dance technique and research.
